Hydrogen Technology Expo 2024: A Collaborative Success

Bergen Engines and GKN Hydrogen Highlight Future Energy Solutions

| Events, On Land.

From October 23-24, we attended the Hydrogen Technology Expo – Europe in Hamburg, marking our second time participating in the event following a successful show in 2023. This expo continues to be a leading platform for showcasing advanced hydrogen and fuel cell technologies, connecting professionals from the entire value chain.

This year, we were excited to meet with our newest sister company in Langley Holdings’ Power Solutions Division, GKN Hydrogen. As the world’s leading company in the production of green hydrogen storage systems, GKN Hydrogen is pioneering the development and integration of cutting-edge solutions for the safe and efficient storage of hydrogen.

At the expo, we highlighted Bergen Engines’ hydrogen-ready medium-speed engines and generating sets, designed to support a wide variety of industries in their journey to lower emissions. Reflecting on the event, John Kristian Johnsen, Head of Sales – Land, remarked, “the event was well-attended with many participants visiting our booth and it was great to start interacting with GKN Hydrogen. We’re excited about our continued collaboration, and look forward to exploring new opportunities to advance the hydrogen economy together.”

As Bergen Engines works toward the development of an engine capable of operating on 100% hydrogen, this event provided a valuable opportunity to share our key findings with other exhibitors and learn about advancements across the market. Thank you to everyone who visited our booth and we look forward to building on the valuable conversations together.

ABOUT BERGEN ENGINES
Bergen Engines produces medium-speed liquid and gas fueled engines and generator sets are supplied to a broad range of land-based, commercial marine, and naval applications. The Bergen name is a watchword for quality and reliability in its field. The tradition of engineering in Bergen, Norway, dates to 1855 when the original company Bergen Mekaniske Verksted (BMV) was founded. In 1946, the company built its first diesel engine and has since commissioned over 7,500 of its iconic liquid and gas fueled engines. Around half of them are still in operation today; such is the quality and reliability of a Bergen engine. Formerly Rolls-Royce Bergen Engines, on 31st December 2021, the company became part of the Power Solutions Division of the British engineering and industrial group, Langley Holdings plc, together with Marelli Motori, Italy, Piller Power Systems, Germany and GKN Hydrogen, Italy.
