Bergen Engines at Hydrogen Tech Expo – North America

Showcasing Hydrogen Solutions for Power Generation

| Events, On Land.

From June 26-27, Bergen Engines participated in Hydrogen Technology Expo: North America, a premier event for the hydrogen and fuel cell industry across North America and abroad. With over 500 exhibitors and more than 10,000 attendees, the expo brought together stakeholders across the hydrogen value chain to explore solutions for low-carbon hydrogen production, storage, distribution, and applications.

At our booth, we showcased our engines and generating sets capable of operating with a 25% hydrogen/natural gas blend, and our ongoing research toward developing engines running on 100% hydrogen. In December, Bergen Engines became the first manufacturer to test a 30% hydrogen blend at full operation, and ongoing testing is currently taking place at our headquarter facility in Norway. This milestone demonstrates our commitment to advancing hydrogen technology for real-world applications, and we look forward to sharing more developments soon.

Why is Hydrogen important for the Future of Power Generation?
  • Reduced Carbon Emissions
Hydrogen combustion produces only water and heat, significantly lowering carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions compared to traditional fossil fuels.
  • Reliable, Tested Solutions
Our hydrogen-blended and upcoming 100% hydrogen powered engines are built on proven technologies, ensuring dependable performance while advancing the transition to cleaner energy.
  • Long-term Sustainability
By supporting the transition to hydrogen-powered systems, industries can contribute to a more sustainable and resilient energy future, reducing long-term environmental impacts.

Thank you to everyone who visited our booth, and for the insights and conversation. We are proud to contribute to the transition to cleaner energy solutions and look forward to continuing the conversation on advancing hydrogen technologies.

ABOUT BERGEN ENGINES
Bergen Engines produces medium-speed liquid and gas fueled engines and generator sets are supplied to a broad range of land-based, commercial marine, and naval applications. The Bergen name is a watchword for quality and reliability in its field. The tradition of engineering in Bergen, Norway, dates to 1855 when the original company Bergen Mekaniske Verksted (BMV) was founded. In 1946, the company built its first diesel engine and has since commissioned over 7,500 of its iconic liquid and gas fueled engines. Around half of them are still in operation today; such is the quality and reliability of a Bergen engine. Formerly Rolls-Royce Bergen Engines, on 31st December 2021, the company became part of the Power Solutions Division of the British engineering and industrial group, Langley Holdings plc, together with Marelli Motori, Italy, Piller Power Systems, Germany.
